Design, Specification and Install in Alderley Edge

New Build Air Source Heat Pump, Solar PV, Battery Storage with Full Mechanical & Electrical.

A delightful new build property in Alderley Edge, Cheshire is a shining example of a building created with the future in mind.

The homeowners were keen to create a self-build property which was utterly environmentally responsible and had sustainability at its heart.

Moss Lane, which is home to Clabber family, was completed in 2019 and incorporates energy efficient elements into all aspects of the build to ensure it was sustainable.

The four-bedroom family home has been insulated to better than current regulations and heating and hot water is provided by a NIBE F2040 16kw air source heat pump. The heating system delivers an ambient temperature using minimum power and is connected to an underfloor heating network throughout the property. The electricity used to run this is largely offset by the 4kW of solar panels and 4.8 KW on the roof, which generate over 4000kWh per annum. Furthermore, A NIBE VPB 400 litre hp cylinder and a NIBE UKV 200 litre buffer tank ensure hot water is also generated for the property.

Initially, JM Renewable Solutions Ltd were appointed to provide Mr Clabber with a consultancy document detailing the different renewable technologies on the market and their feasibility for his property. As part of the service, JMRS then designed/specified the most optimal system based on their findings that aligned with the personal goals of Mr. Clabber.

“This was a dream installation and one which showcases the truest elements of sustainability in new build homes,” commented JM Renewable Solutions, the NIBE VIP Installer on the project. “It is very eco-friendly and energy efficient and, because we were involved at the architect stage of the building, we were able to ensure the building worked alongside the heating and plumbing to deliver a system that was tidy, concealed wherever possible and efficient. There is a lot of technology contained within the home and it all works together perfectly, creating a lovely family home which is comfortable, sustainable and easy to maintain.

The NIBE heat pump which is extremely efficient and a high specification underfloor heating system delivers 4.29kW of heating from every 1kw of energy used to power the system.

The property demonstrates the way in which heat pumps can work individually or form part of a wider vision for a sustainable home.

Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) payments have been realised with a payment due of £1500.00 per annum for seven years, FIT payments £240.00 p/a for 20 years and the customers will benefit from being able to use any excess electricity generated by the PV in the evening through the battery storage system. Making this property a true eco warrior and a shining example of ultra-efficiency.
