8.5kW Air Source Heat Pump Installation, Mold

Introduction

We recently installed an 8.5kW Mitsubishi Air Source Heat Pump for a homeowner in Mold, Flintshire, North Wales. The client sought a sustainable, low-maintenance solution for their heating and hot water needs. We worked closely with them to understand their requirements and designed a bespoke system that would ensure both comfort, efficiency and value.

Methodology

During the design of the heating system, our priority was to provide an energy-efficient, reliable, and low-maintenance solution suited to the client’s property and needs. After evaluating multiple options, we recommended the Mitsubishi 8.5kW Air Source Heat Pump due to its quiet operation, minimal maintenance, and advanced energy monitoring capabilities. The pump’s integrated monitoring features allow for precise tracking of energy consumption, which helps optimise household energy use.

To support the heat pump’s functionality, we paired it with a Mitsubishi Pre-plumbed 210-litre hot water cylinder, equipped with integrated hydraulic components and sophisticated control systems. This configuration would allow seamless integration with the property’s existing central heating and hot water system. The pre-plumbed design was also instrumental in reducing installation time, as it arrived ready for connection with minimal on-site adjustments required.

Installation

The installation took place in a large utility room, conveniently located to simplify the integration with the home’s existing central heating and hot water system. As a pre-plumbed and pre-wired unit, the 210-litre cylinder was straightforward to install, allowing easy connection to the existing system. All pipework was professionally insulated to ensure efficiency, reduce heat loss, and enhance system longevity.

Upon completing the installation, we conducted rigorous testing of the system to verify its functionality and efficiency. Additionally, we provided the homeowner with a comprehensive walkthrough of the controls, ensuring they fully understood how to operate and monitor their new heating system effectively.

Outcome

The installation of the 8.5kW Mitsubishi ASHP achieved the client’s objective of a more sustainable heating solution. The homeowner was very pleased with the professionalism and friendliness of the JM Renewables team, noting that they would readily recommend our services in the future. The new system has not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations for both efficiency and ease of use. By choosing a greener solution, the homeowner is contributing to a reduction in carbon emissions and an increase in household energy efficiency.
