When was your air source heat pump last serviced?

Heat pumps are reliable and long-lasting, but like any heating system, they need annual maintenance. Most manufacturers’ warranties are only upheld if a qualified engineer services the system every year, and a serviced heat pump runs more efficiently, more quietly and for longer.

Why an annual service matters

Your warranty stays valid

Most manufacturers only uphold their warranty if a qualified engineer services the system every 12 months. Most parts stay covered for 7 years, so the service protects a substantial amount of cover.

Small faults stay small

An annual inspection catches worn parts, pressure drops and fault codes while they are still cheap to fix, rather than after a breakdown in the middle of winter.

Running costs stay low

Clean coils, correct flow rates and a balanced system keep your heat pump at peak efficiency, so you use less electricity for the same warmth.

What the annual service covers

A full system inspection includes the following;

Fan and evaporator coils cleaned

Internal components checked

Expansion vessels checked

Glycol and/or antifreeze valves checked

Magnetic filters and strainers cleaned

System pressure check

Fault code checking

Legionella protection check

Flow rate and function test

Service sheet and log completed

We finish by checking that your whole system is working satisfactorily, then complete and hand over your service log.

What you get out of it

Beyond keeping your warranty intact.

Longer system life
Components kept clean and in good condition last significantly longer.

Fewer breakdowns
We find and fix issues before they become expensive faults.

RHI payments protected
You remain eligible for Renewable Heat Incentive payments.

Safe operation
We check all electrical and refrigerant components.

Quieter running
No rattles, humming or unexpected noise.

Our engineer’s qualifications

Heat pump servicing is regulated work. An engineer with the certifications your system and warranty require carries out every service.

BPEC Domestic Air Source Heat Pump Systems

The recognised technical qualification for working on domestic air source heat pump systems. Our engineers are trained up to Level 3.

F-Gas certification

Required by law for anyone working on the refrigerant circuit of an air source heat pump. It covers handling, recovery and leak checks of refrigerants.

MCS certification

Work carried out by an MCS certified installer meets recognised competency standards. This is a requirement to keep your warranty valid.

Manufacturer Training

Stiebel Eltron, Nibe and Mitsubishi, among others, require or offer their own servicing accreditation and it is often needed to keep warranties valid.

What it costs

One fixed price: £230+VAT* for a single heat pump service, including the official annual service your manufacturer’s warranty requires.

Repairs and parts are not included. If our engineer finds a problem, it is recorded on your service sheet and you will receive either a repair quote or a warranty call-out through the manufacturer.
